Premises Injuries

We represent people who are seriously injured at commercial establishments due to negligent or reckless conduct.

All businesses and landlords owe their guests and tenants a high degree of care to ensure they are not creating unreasonable risks of harm or dangerous conditions for the people they are inviting to their property. Whether it be negligent retailers not ensuring their store is safe ahead of the busy holiday shopping season or landlords refusing to ensure that the property they have control over is safe for tenants and guests, there are a wide array of situations that lead to dangerous conditions on any given piece of land.

Many people suffer serious physical and emotional injuries while venturing out into public in day-to-day life; injuries that are 100% preventable in the exercise of reasonable care. The sad reality is that there are often extremely dangerous conditions around stores and other businesses open to the public that many companies and landlords ignore until it is too late. Whether you are a business patron or a guest on someone’s property, you should not have to suffer the consequences of this type of negligence. Call us today if you have been injured.

What Do I Do If I Have Been Injured?

FIVE MAIN GOALS

ONE

If you have been injured as a guest at any business or on someone’s private property, make sure you immediately notify the people working or living at that location. Always ensure you provide your information and gather the names and job titles of the employees working during that time. If you are on someone’s private property, always ensure you get the names of any and all tenants, property managers, and landlords.

TWO

Always remember to do your best to have photographs taken of the scene. Take note if there are security cameras present that would have captured the incident, and always look for hidden defects on the land that may have helped contribute to the incident (i.e., burned out lights, faulty stairs, etc.).

THREE

Always try your best to identify any and all third-party witnesses who were on scene and assisting the parties involved. It is best to gather their full names and contact numbers along with their perspectives as witnesses to the incident.

Four

Always ask for a copy of all incident reports that business or property management personnel might have drafted as a result of the event. Always make sure to identify the insurance company that will be handling the claim on behalf of the establishment. However, never agree to talk with anyone before consulting with and hiring an attorney.
